“Photography is first and foremost a passion for me and a way of preserving the past for the future.”
-DJRowell
Mother of four, grandmother of six and more to come, DJRowell (“Dee”) grew up in a family of six children where pictures were few but memories were endless. On the wall hung a rare black and white family portrait of mom, dad, and the kids they somehow managed to take before they all grew up much too fast and scattered to the winds to begin their own chapters in life. Years later, she vowed she would always remember every detail of her own children’s chubby little fingers, mischievous smiles, the prissy little pose, and the little boy in the baseball cap that all too quickly turned into a graduation cap. Now they, too, have started their own chapters in life with their own babies that they vow they will remember ‘like it was yesterday.’ We try, we promise ourselves we will never forget, but we do.
Dee learned quickly that the click of a camera’s shutter captures only one split second in time, but sometimes it is just enough to bring back those special moments we promise ourselves we will never forget. As wife, mother, sister, friend, Dee is rarely without a camera, freezing those moments in time again and again. When the grandchildren came along she was lovingly nicknamed “the Paparazzi Nandy” by her family and friends. Her interest in photography drives her to attend as many workshops and seminars as she can fit into her busy schedule, always eager to learn more ways to perfect her craft and produce the best image possible by learning from the experts in the field of photography.
Having a relaxed, stress-free photographic experience is one of the goals of DJRowell Photography. But more than anything, Dee wants to make sure that one day you will look at your portraits and be flooded with memories of that captured moment in time. Then, your “memory pictures” will step out of the frame and come to life for you one more time.
Live the moment; let us capture it for you.
